TWIN
SHAFT MIXER SPECIAL DISCHARGE FEATURES
The
Reduced Discharge Door option is now available on
most models, reducing the full width
discharge to approximately 1/3 of the normal opening. This option includes a chute
(shown semi-transparent) and chute washout system. It allows the mixer to be placed 1000 mm
(40") lower, saving the cost of new structure and associated
conveyors in many cases.
Discharge time, although longer than for the unrestricted opening, is no
longer than the partial opening required to fill most mixer trucks and
chutes.
This innovation is made possible by the larger
number of paddles and consequent faster discharge of the MAO series
mixers, compared with their competitors. It is a patented feature
exclusive to Sicoma.

The chute (or discharge cone) for both Reduced and Double
Discharge Doors is shorter by 1000mm (40"). This extra headroom
translates into lower plant height, and lower cost as a result. If
retrofitting a larger mixer into an existing plant, this innovation can
make all the difference in getting the mixer into the available space.
Chutes for both the Reduced and Double discharge doors are fitted
with a water spray bar for cleaning and a rotating jet pressure washing
accessory is also available. |
The Double Discharge Door option
allows separate discharge to either of two outlets; something that was not
possible with twin-shaft mixers until now. This is an important
advancement for this type of mixer, easing its application in many precast
applications having two or more delivery locations; for example, two sets of
traveling hopper rails can be channeled under the mixer for high volume
delivery. In ready-mix operations, it allows trucks to back in from both sides
and eliminate waiting between loads. A secondary advantage of the smaller chute
is its lower headroom requirement which lowers the mixer platform by 40" for the
same delivery height. The Double Discharge Door has been patented by
Sicoma.

Premix plants can take advantage of the double discharge option to give two
separate truck loading positions, allowing one to load while the other is coming
into position. This saves time and increases throughput. The
MAO12000 mixer can load up to 10.5 yds in every batch, allowing a single mixer
plant of this type to produce up to 500 yds per hour at peak production, while
giving each truck almost two minutes to leave and be replaced.
